I’m often asked, “Do you know what you will paint before you start?” And I answer no, most of the time.
For me painting is about the process of making mark after mark; I build a painting, layer by layer. Sometimes I have an idea, and by the end of the journey, the result is nothing I had in mind to begin with. It’s the journey and not the destination that is most important to me.
